our roots

No13 Coffee Roasting began with a marriage of over twenty years and a common desire to make amazing coffee and share it with others. We actually agreed on something. 

We have long since shared a passion for coffee; it’s story, it’s flavour and the ability it possessed to bring people together.

With this in mind we set about sourcing small batches of green beans, bought a one kilo roasting machine and embarked on a journey which has brought us to the present day.

We made friends with fellow coffee roasters, speciality coffee importers, took training days and most importantly gave our friends and family the best gift of all, freshly roasted coffee.

One day a good friend of ours said “isn’t it about time you two got a coffee shop or sold your beans?”

We took their advice, invested in a brand new five kilo semi automatic roaster, bought and renovated an old horsebox which we lovingly named Lulu so we could start sharing our love of artisan coffee with everyone.
